North East Labour MSP Lewis Macdonald today described the decision by Muller to close its Aberdeen depot, with the loss of 45 jobs, as “hugely disappointing”.
Lewis Macdonald said :
“This is bad news for workers at the Muller depot in Aberdeen and their families.
“It is hugely disappointing that the company’s review of their operations in Aberdeen has resulted in the decision to go ahead with the closure regardless.
“It is also disappointing that the Scottish Government appears to have done nothing to help protect these jobs, even though I asked Nicola Sturgeon to intervene five weeks ago.
“The sight of a few jobs created in the Central Belt while twice as many are lost in the North East is depressingly familiar, and so too is the lack of any response from the Scottish Government.”
